Privacy Policy

The short version. Rectify has no accounts and no servers of ours. Your defects, photographs and reports are stored on your device. We do not collect them, do not receive them, cannot read them, and have no way to recover them for you.

What we collect

Nothing. Rectify does not ask you to create an account, does not ask for your name or email address, and does not send us any information about you or your property.

There is no analytics in this app, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app contains no third-party software development kits — only Apple's own frameworks.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in Rectify is written to storage that belongs to the app on your own device:

Projects, defects, descriptions, locations, trades, statuses and dates
Photographs you take or import, and any markings, pins or captions you add to them
Reports you generate, as PDF files
Your signature and company details, if you enter them

None of it is transmitted to us. If you delete the app, all of it is deleted with it, and we cannot restore it. Rectify does not currently sync your projects to iCloud or anywhere else; if that ever changes it will be optional, and this page will say so before the version that does it ships.

Photographs and location

Photographs are re-encoded by the app when you attach them. That process does not carry over the metadata your camera records, so the GPS coordinates of a photograph are not stored by Rectify and do not appear in a report you issue.

Rectify never asks for location access and has no access to where you are.

Permissions the app asks for

Camera — to photograph a defect while you are standing in front of it. Used only when you tap to take a photo.
Photo library — to attach photographs you have already taken. The app reads only the images you pick.
Files — to save a report, and to open a floor plan you choose.

You can refuse or withdraw any of these in iOS Settings. Refusing them limits the relevant feature and nothing else.

When information does leave your device

Only when you choose to send it. If you share a report by email, AirDrop, messaging or any other app, that report goes directly from your device to the recipient you picked. It does not pass through us, and we do not receive a copy.

Once you have sent a report, what happens to it is between you and the person you sent it to.

Opening these pages inside the app

When you tap Terms or Privacy in the app's About screen, the app opens this website in a web view. That is an ordinary web request, so this site's host can see your device's IP address, the browser identification your device sends, and the time of the request — the same as visiting any page.

Nothing about your projects, defects or photographs is attached to that request.

Photographs stored in iCloud

If a photograph you pick from your library lives in iCloud rather than on the device, iOS downloads it from your own iCloud account so the app can use it. That exchange is between your device and Apple, under your iCloud settings. We are not party to it and receive nothing.

Payments

Paid features are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether a purchase is active. We never see your card details, billing address or Apple ID. Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction.

Children

Rectify is a tool for property handover and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Data protection law — including Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 — gives you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you.

In Rectify's case those rights are satisfied directly: the data is on your device, under your control. You can edit or delete any defect, photograph or report inside the app at any time, and deleting the app removes everything. There is no copy held by us to request, correct or erase.

Changes to this policy

If Rectify ever begins collecting or transmitting anything — for example if optional iCloud syncing or an account system is added — we will update this page and change the date at the top before that version ships.
